What SVPN News is

SVPN News shows what people are paying attention to right now. We follow a curated set of outlets' own posts, rank their stories as the attention builds, and link every headline straight to the publisher's article. We don't republish anyone's work, and we don't pretend that attention is the same thing as importance: the points on each story reflect attention on the sources' own posts, not an editorial judgment.

What you can do

See what's rising. Rising shows the stories gaining attention fastest. Ranked shows the top stories for a window from a few hours up to a week, for news, tech and gaming. Latest shows what just arrived, and Discuss shows where the conversation is.
Ask the news. Type a question in plain language and get the stories that match it.
Talk about it. Every story has its own discussion page. With a free account you can comment, vote, save stories to read later, and follow the topics and outlets you care about.
Look back. The archive keeps dated copies of the top stories every six hours. Each page stays exactly as it was, so you can cite what was in the news at a given moment.
Take it with you. Install SVPN News on your phone or desktop like an app.

Early access to SOCIAL

Everyone who signs up for a free SVPN News account gets early access to the SOCIAL beta when it launches, which is soon. SOCIAL is the private community network we've been building alongside it: your communities, your conversations and your own email address, together in one private place, with less noise.

SOCIAL lets you connect your Bluesky account with Bluesky's official sign-in (no password sharing, and SOCIAL never touches your direct messages) and mirror your posts to Bluesky automatically or one at a time. SOCIAL also works with standard.site, the open publishing standard for the AT Protocol that this blog already uses.
